English version

The American Pfizer has appointed Adriana Belardinelli as site manager of its manufacturing plant in Argentina.

With this decision, the company has put two women in key positions to carry out the most important responsibilities in its local branch.

The first one was Anne Nijs, who was appointed as general manager of Pfizer for Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay a year ago. See article.

And as from next November 1—and in order to succeed the long-standing manager, Carlos Álvarez—it chose Belardinelli, who has been with the corporation for almost two decades and has held the highest post in Quality for the last six months.

Belardinelli will have the rare privilege of making up the triad of women in charge of a local drug manufacturing plant in Argentina. The second one is Cecilia Vidal—plant manager of the national laboratory Bernabó, owned by the Breitman family. And the third one is Adriana Vecchioli—key person in the model plant of raw materials that Gador has in the district of Pilar.

In the neighborhood of Villa del Parque, Bernabó produces solid dosage forms, whereas Pfizer manufactures coated tablets, capsules, pouches, and powders. It also concentrates the production of the popular Ibupirac for Argentina.

Following this appointment, Carlos Álvarez leaves the company after ten years. He had joined when the former Pharmacia was acquired by Pfizer.

However, the pharmacist started his career in 1972 as the director of the defunct Laboratorios Upjohn—also acquired by Pharmacia.
