Alberto Weder’s 15-year tenure at the helm of Danish drugmaker Lundbeck’s Argentine concern has been brought to an end, Pharmabiz has learned.
For the moment, finance director Enrique Alba Valle is acting as virtual number one.
Lundbeck is tightening its belt internationally in an effort to boost profitability.
This is not the first instance of a local director being moved aside. The company previously let go commercial manager Brian Grant.
The local changes are not isolated. The company is moving forward with a worldwide restructuration announced last August by new CEO Kåre Schultz and which has led to almost 1000 redundancies in an attempt to reduce costs by $458.3 million. See press release
In Argentina, Lundbeck earned just 150 million pesos through pharmacy sales last year.
