Esta noche, jueves 17 de noviembre, la legislatura de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires adhirió a la ley nacional 26.567.
Dicha ley fue aprobada en 2009 en el Congreso de la Nación y regula la actividad farmacéutica.
Los puntos principales establecen que los medicamentos deben comercializarse exclusivamente en farmacias y que los OTC sólo pueden venderse desde el mostrador.
Con esta decisión -teóricamente-, los medicamentos de venta libre ya no podrían estar al acceso del público a través de la góndola, para que tenga la opción de comparar precios y características.
Cabe preguntarse si esta decisión tendrá una implementación definitiva en las farmacias de la ciudad de Buenos Aires, ya que se supone que seguirán las batallas judiciales en torno de la aplicación de esta ley.

Capital, OTC off the shelves?

Tonight, Thursday November 17th, the Buenos Aires city legislature adhered the national law 26.567.
Said law was passed in 2009 in the National Congress and regulates pharmaceutical activity.
The main points establish that medications can only be commercialized in pharmacies and that the OTCs only be sold from the pharmacy counter.
With this decision, theoretically, non-prescription medications could no longer be accessed on the shelves by the public, so that they have the option to compare prices and characteristics.
One needs to ask if this decision will have a definitive implementation in the pharmacies in the city of Buenos Aires, because it is assumed the judicial battles will continue around the application of this law.
