Argentine businessman Jorge Braver has bought an oncology plant from German firm Fresenius Kabi‘s – specialists in infusion therapy and parenteral nutrition.
A strong man in the Cooperala industrial chamber who likes to hold his meetings in upmarket Buenos Aires restaurant Selquet, Braver currently does not have his own plant. But Pharmabiz has exclusively learned that from the first semester of 2016, he will take control of the Fresenius Kabi facility, located in the neighbourhood of Martínez, Buenos Aires.
The purchase will be formalized through his firm GP Pharm, which is believed to have paid close to $4.5 million for the site.
Fresenius Kabi, led in Argentina by Rodolfo Raviolo, produces non-core products at the site.
The buyer is expected to bring 100 employees to the plant, which Fresenius inherited when it acquired Filaxis in 2007, but the number has not been confirmed.
