After two decades, Jorge Belluzzo is stepping down as managing director of Argentina’s Raffo, part of the Adium group. He’ll be replaced by Claudio Beramendi from January 2025. Belluzzo will continue as chair of the CILFA.

Argentina’s Raffo has announced with half a year’s notice that Claudio Beramendi will replace Jorge Belluzzo as its managing director from January 2025. Currently based in Uruguay as vice president for Oncology and Rare Diseases in Latin America, Beramendi graduated in law from the University of Buenos Aires and has been with Raffo for 28 years. He joined the group as a sales representative and became commercial manager for oncology and special lines in 2015.

A graduate in business administration, Belluzzo joined the company’s finance team in 1988 and later became CFO, a role that would later take on responsibility for production operations. He became managing director in 2002 at a time when Raffo was ranked just 35th among the largest Argentine drugmakers. His tenure has seen the group grow to take a place in the top five today. Belluzzo will continue as president of the trade body the Cámara Industrial de Laboratorios Farmacéuticos Argentinos (CILFA), a position he took up this year and will hold until the end of 2025.
